Mr. Beasley has served as an educator in Mobile and Baldwin County School Systems for the past 30 years. He has held his current position as principal at Fairhope Elementary School since 1995. He has done extensive consulting work for the University of South Alabama, Troy State, and Auburn Universities, and several publishing companies. He was selected as National Distinguished Principal in 2000. Terry Beasley has presented at conferences from the local to the national level: The Gulf Coast Conference on the Teaching of Writing & Project Mobile II; The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics 67th Annual Conference; Educational Leadership Conference for Administrators and Supervisors; State Department of Education Migrant Conference; and Rural Schoolwide Projects Regional Conference. He also initiated the Annual Spring Motivational In-Service for the elementary schools on the Eastern Shore in Baldwin County. He is served as: Alabama Association of Elementary School Principals - President Board of Directors of Council of Leaders of Alabama Schools State Superintendent Principal's Advisory Committee Board of Directors for Children of the World Adoption Agency Southeastern Council of Elementary School Principals - President Technology Leadership Committee for Baldwin County Schools Many other task forces and committees in Mobile and Baldwin County Schools.
Mr. Beasley enjoys writing. He has recently published his first book, Lessons from a Tooth Fairy. He has had a number of poems published by the Alabama Poetry Society and the American Poetry Society; an article on math published by the Southeastern Educational Improvement Laboratory, and an article about improving physical education in elementary schools published in Principal, a national magazine for elementary school principals. Mr. Beasley is referenced many time and has two [2] poems published in Dr. Elaine McEwan's book 10 Traits of Highly Effectives Principals. He loves reading and read an average of sixty [60] to [70] books a year.
