C. F. "Cliff" Spanier Award 2007
Here we are at the end of another school year and I am privileged once again to present the C. F. "Cliff" Spanier Award to a very worthy individual.
A few years ago, Patricia McCloud spoke at our State's Principals' Conference. Her presentation was extremely motivational and she challenged me personally and professionally when she said, "To be born a man or woman is a matter of birth; but, to be an individual who cares to touch a child is a choice."
Our Spanier Award is about giving a child...
Hope for a brighter tomorrow;
Hope for a better chance in life;
Caring about a student's successes & failures; and,
Making a real difference in the life of a child.
The recipient of this year's award understands that our dear little ones are sent to us to be nurtured and she personally enjoys seeing them grow while in our care. Each child is welcomed regardless of size, shape, background, intelligence, or need. They are accepted regardless of their grooming, their countenance, their level of self-confidence, or their economic status. To all, this recipient extends a caring hand, offers a kind word, encourages efforts, and gives a warm smile.
In appreciation of her commitment to nurture and mold young lives, the 2007 C. F. "Cliff" Spanier Award Winner is Ann Whatley!
