Spanier Award

In appreciation of your commitment to nurture and mold young lives.

This award is not about

            The highest test scores

            The most well-behaved classroom

Or, smartest class-most honor roll students

This award is about

Seeing potential where there seems to be none

Reaching out to all the children—those affluent and in poverty

The intellectuals and the mentally challenged

The well-behaved and the “bad to the bone”

The underprivileged and “the well to do”

                        The outcast and the well-placed

            It’s about loving and caring

            About giving and sharing

            About helping and holding

            About developing and nurturing

About holding a hand and hugging a child

            About seeing possibility and potential

About pointing students toward the stars and milkyway

About discovering talents and promoting them.
